Middle Grades Education (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Scientific discipline with a major in center grades education caste prepares students to piece of work in grades 4-viii. Heart level candidates select two teaching field concentrations (Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts). All middle level cohorts begin in the autumn semester. During the fall placement of the senior year, candidates are assigned to selected area schools and expected to attend preplanning along with the classroom teachers.

Archway into plan: The College of Education is hosting an early admissions window this fall! The online application will open onNovember 29, 2021 and shutDecember xiii, 2021 and will open once again January 3, 2022 through January 14, 2022. Tardily applications will Not be accustomed.
The center level program prepares students to work in grades 4-eight. Middle level candidates select 2 educational activity field concentrations (Math, Scientific discipline, Social Studies and Linguistic communication Arts). All middle level cohorts brainstorm in the fall semester. During the fall placement of the senior year, candidates are assigned to selected area schools and expected to nourish preplanning along with the classroom teachers. Complete Application for Access:
- The following documents must be uploaded when completing the application online:
- Candidate Beliefs Self-Cess Survey
- Completed pre-service document application (document provided in application to download, complete, then upload in the application)
- Completed Verification of Lawful Presence Affirmation class (document provided in application to download, complete, so upload in the awarding. Please note, this document must be completed in its entirety and notarized before uploading to your application.)
- A photocopy of the photo identification that was used when notarizing the VLP (driver'southward license, passport, or other government issued photo ID. If using a passport, y'all MUST include the front and back pages)
- Proof of successful completion of Georgia Ideals Assessment
- A copy of current professional liability insurance
- A completed plan of study signed by your Higher of Education advisor
- Test Scores for GACE Program Admissions, Saturday, or ACT
- You may exempt GACE Plan Admissions by providing proof of the following:
- For SAT® Score Reports datedprior to 7/1/19
- thou on Verbal/Critical Reading, and Math (Note that this is the previous Sabbatum title used prior to March 2016.), OR
- thou on Bear witness based Reading/Writing and Math (Notation that this is current SAT title as of March 2016.)
- For recentering Sabbatum® scores prior to April, 1995, visit the Georgia Professional Standards Committee.
- For Score Reports datedon or after 7/1/nineteen
- 1080 on Evidence based Reading/Writing AND Math
- Tests from ii test administrations can exist combined to encounter the exemption requirement.
(Ex: Verbal from one Saturday exam administration combined with Math from some other SAT exam administration.) - In combining scores from two test administrations, if one of the score reports is dated on or later on seven/1/19, the minimum SAT score to exempt the GACE Program Access Assessment (PAA) must be 1080.
(Ex. The math score from a score report dated prior to vii/one/19 can be combined with the Show based Reading/Writing score from a score report dated on or after 7/1/nineteen, to run across the 1080 minimum required exemption score.) - Deed minimum score of 43 combining English and Math
- The minimum passing score for GACE Programme Admissions is 250 in each section (reading, math, and writing)
- For SAT® Score Reports datedprior to 7/1/19
- OFFICIAL SAT or Human activity score report if exempting GACE Programme Admissions. Unofficial test scores and transcripts are no longer accepted.
- You may exempt GACE Plan Admissions by providing proof of the following:
- Additional program requirements are:
- A GPA of ii.75 or higher upon admission to the plan
- Completion of sixty semester credit hours that are applicative to program caste program of study, including the completion of all courses in Area A1 (ENGL 1101, ENGL 1102), A2 (Math), and ALL Surface area F (EDUC 2110, EDUC 2120, EDUC 2130, and Didactics Field #i and #2 coursework), with grades of C or improve upon inbound the program.
- A "C" class or higher is required for all instruction field courses.
- A grade of "C" or college is required of Math courses in Area D
The College of Pedagogy Admissions function also requires that you…
- Must maintain a documented, overall (UNG and Transfer) grade point average of iii.0;
- Register with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and secure your MyPSC account; and
- If you are a transfer student, employ to UNG and submit a letter of recommendation from a professor at your previous institution.
